Named for the free throw made after being fouled during a shot that goes in, AND1's legend has grown over the past two decades, with their quest to find the greatest streetball players in the world. The AND1 Mixtape Tour has featured players such as Skip to My Lou, Main Event, The Professor, Hot Sauce, 50, and AO. Along with their MC Duke Tango and their coach Big Mike Ellis, the AND1 team travels from town to town, challenging the locals. With isolation one-on-one ball handling moves and acrobatic slam dunks and alley-oops, the excitement is always fever-pitch, and the local players who give the best performance have the chance for a position on the AND1 team. Current team members include Grayson Boucher, Kenny "Bad Santa" Brunner, Jerry Dupree, Troy Jackson, Tony "Go Get It" Jones and other top ballers from around the country.
Beginning with Rafer Alston's "Skip Mixtape" in the late 90s, AND1 has released a new Mixtape from the AND1 basketball team every year for the past ten years. The most recent, Mixtape X, celebrates a decade of streetball dominance by AND1, showing footage from the United Streets Of America tour, and introduces Jamal Nelson (AKA Springs) and Antwan Scott (AKA 8th Wonder) as well as the return of Hot Sauce, who had taken a brief hiatus from the tour.
