Although many other companies are cutting their sports marketing budgets during these daunting economic times, Go Daddy is increasing spending on sports sponsorships and TV ads to help drive its sales.
GoDaddy.com was among the first Internet companies to advertise during the Super Bowl. Who could forget their legendary 2005 debut commercial spoof of Janet Jackson’s infamous “wardrobe malfunction?” That commercial is still referenced in marketing textbooks and courses, and it helped to bring Go Daddy to national prominence.
The edgy, some might say naughty Go Daddy Super Bowl spots, filled with double entendre and beautiful women (sometimes barely dressed), are must watch for many viewers, whether they love them or hate them. Company founder Bob Parsons wrote on his weblog that the decision to air commercials in the 2010 broadcast was an easy one. “Every year people say Go Daddy can’t top the previous year – every year we prove them dead wrong.” The 2009 Go Daddy commercials (which reportedly cost over $3 million each to air) were named “most watched” by TiVo, and Go Daddy has continued to set records for revenue and new customers in their wake.
Although there has been no hint as to the specific nature of next year’s ads, nor any mention concerning whether the traditional “uncensored” versions will be made available afterward on the Web, we can always expect something new and a bit daring from Go Daddy when it comes to their Super Bowl presence.
Of course, we can also expect great customer service, flawless performance and the most competitive pricing in the marketplace from Go Daddy. If you’re shopping for a domain name registration or renewal, website hosting or any of the other services they offer, be sure to take advantage of our GoDaddy Coupons for even more savings from the world’s number one domain name registrar, Go Daddy!
