The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and an Accutron timer placed in the moon’s Sea of Tranquility controlled vital data transmissions for years. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as the official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams
